ताडितस्य हि योधस्य श्लाघनीय कर्मणा ।
अकालांतरिता पूजा नाशयत्येव वेदनाम् ॥

tāḍitasya hi yodhasya ślāghanīya karmaṇā ।
akālāṃtaritā pūjā nāśayatyeva vedanām ॥

When a soldier returns after a battle after having rendered praiseworthy service and after suffering a lot of wounds and enduring a lot of challenges in the process, if he is showered with praises and decorated with befitting honours without any delay or reservations, his pains and physical difficulties would vanish immediately.
താഡിതസ്യ ഹി യോധസ്യ ശ്ലാഘനീയ കര്മ്മണാ ।
അകാലാംതരിതാ പൂജാ നാശയത്യേവ വേദനാം॥

യുദ്ധക്കളത്തില് ഒരുപാട് പ്രഹരങ്ങളും വിഷമങ്ങളും അഭിമുഖീകരിച്ച് സ്തുത്യര്ഹമായ സേവനം കാഴ്ചവച്ച് നാട്ടില് തിരിച്ചെത്തുന്ന ക്ഷീണിതനായ യോദ്ധാവിന് നാട്ടില് ഒട്ടും വൈകാതെ വേണ്ടത്ര പ്രശംസയും അര്ഹമായ ബഹുമതികളും ലഭിക്കുകയാണെങ്കില് അയാളുടെ വേദനയും വിഷമവും എല്ലാം അപ്പോള്ത്തന്നെ അപ്രത്യക്ഷമാവും
