स्नेहेन कश्चिन्न समोऽस्ति पाशः
स्रोतो न तृष्णासममस्ति हारि।
रागाग्निना नास्ति समस्तथाग्निस्
तच्चेत् त्रयं नास्ति सुखं न तेऽस्ति॥
अश्वघोषस्य सौन्दरनन्दे
snehena kaścinna samo'sti pāśaḥ
sroto na tṛṣṇāsamasti hāri|
rāgāgninā nāsti samastathāgnis
taccet trayaṁ nāsti sukhaṁ na te'sti||
aśvaghoṣasya saundaranande
There cannot be a maze like bondage worse or binding rope worse than intense and irrational attachment towards certain persons or object
There cannot be a worse torrential flow that would simply was away everything in its wake when compared intense yearning and avariciousnes
There cannot exist a worse fire than the one that would burn slowly but intensely a person who is afflicted by intense passion especially when his thoughts are guided by romance
And if a person is caught up by all these three then sure, he can never escape from grief and heartbreak.
Analysis
स्नेहेन like love, like blind love समःequal to पाशः binding rope, bondage न अस्ति not there तृष्णा like excessive avariciousness, desire समं equal to हारी स्रोतः the torrential flow that washes away everything in its flow न अस्ति not there रागाग्निना like the fire of passion समः equal to तथा अग्निः that fire च न अस्ति too is not there तत् त्रयं that threesome चेत् ते if you have सुखं न अस्ति. Then you will have no comfort or peace.
