I believe that we can be very frank and forthcoming in our transactions, behaviour and interactions.
If one likes a person or his views he can be, or in my view, should be effusive in being grateful for having such a person as friend and acknowledge it too
Simultaneously, he should be free to express his dislike on issues..
and if such dislike is not taken with an open mind,
the best way would be to cut off the friend for ever..
It is not worth the trouble to have such a connection.
Cats on the wall .. neither friend nor enemy.. such people are of no use in one's close circles or in life..
Of course one cannot avoid a barber or a milkman, a bus driver or a cleaner of the streets..
and the politicians too..
but such transactions are completely neutral..
Often we have choice even in selecting such persons..
If an opinion or view is taken and professed out of genuine conviction, even if such view might appear to be foolish and outlandish, others have a duty at least to tolerate it..
At least that is what I believe..
But if people take stands
to show off in a crowd,
to curry favour
or to irritate,
or just to give exercise to the brain and the vocal chords,
the best thing for others is to avoid and ostracize such persons..
They cause vocal and intellectual pollution and stink at micro levels
but can be killers in macro level,
if they are tolerated..
People who just keep quiet just to avoid controversy when actually they are galled by the presence of some polluters, in my view, are equally bad as the polluters themselves..
