प्रायः कन्दुकपातेनोत्पतत्यार्यः पतन्नपि।
तथा पतन्ननार्यस्तु मृत्पिण्डपतनम् यथा॥
भर्तृहरेः नीतिशतके॥

tathā patannanāryastu mṛtpiṇḍapatanam yathā||

A noble and cultured person, even if a fall in fortunes happens to him, would bounce back to normal heights like a ball thrown down.
But an evil and uncultured fellow, when a fall occurs to him , just settles down like a wet lump of clay falling from a height..never to rise again..
For good people setbacks in life are just prefaces to rise to greater heights..
